Live Ink Blog Tutorial

Thought I’d try something new.
Here I will be using the Fujitsu U810 connected via WiFi to demonstrate a live ink blog post.
I will be using ManyCams which is basically a free version of WebCamMax for the PC or CamTwist for the Mac. It has basic features such as titling and effects but also has the ability to use photos or a desktop as a webcam source which I will be using.

Live webcam recording on UMPC w/ WWAN connection
Thought I should test Utterz’ live webcam recording with the Fujitsu U810 and Novatel U727 EVDO USB modem. Taking a cruise to Starbucks to test it out.

National Handwriting Day
National Handwriting Day
Well, well. I found out from Sumocat via
GBM it’s National Handwriting Day today.
This day was chosen using John Hancock’s
birthday which makes perfect sense.
GottaBeMobile has been posting a lot
about ink blogging lately. I’m not sure if
interest will blow up significantly, but
it would be nice to gain a few more
inkers.

Utterz adds instant video recording
Uh oh Seesmic, it looks like some folks are using your idea.
Utterz has just added instant audio and webcam video recording to its service.
This adds a new dimension to its twitter-like social network. You could already call in a voice message or email video attachments. Or combine all the media, like for example, if you call in a message with your cell phone and then email a photo or video to go@utterz.com within 10 minutes, utterz will combine the two into one message.
The variety of media you can use to microblog is nice and now using a flash interface to record straight into the browser was the next natural step.
In a few weeks, Utterz will add instant recording in the comments.

Trying out Riffly Wordpress Plugin
As you can tell, I’m all on the live webcam streaming tip lately. Let’s face it, uploading sucks if you want to record a short clip.
So I found Riffly which is a sweet plugin for Wordpress. What it does is add the ability for visitors to leave live audio or video webcam comments. None of this record and upload stuff. It’s direct, fast, and easy. How sweet is that?
So, please, help me out and leave an audio/video comment to see if this is working.
