Trying out flixn.com

While looking for sites that take advantage of the web cam, I found flixn.com.

It’s a dead simple way to record and then share a webcam recording. You don’t need a login, so you can jump on over and try it right away.

Other sites worth mentioning that provide the same service are Hellodeo and Twango.

I’m still at the bowl watching football and the 8 game scratch tourney.

Custom Webclip for iPhone/iPod Touch

FILE0034

If you ever have the urge to add this blog to the homescreen on your iPhone/iPod Touch, you will now get my family crest instead of the nasty generated icon.

To get this done on your site..

From Jenn of Pocketables:

To make your own webclip icon:

  1. Create a 57 x 57 image and save it as a PNG file.
  2. Name the file “apple-touch-icon.png” (without the quotes).
  3. Upload it to the main directory or root folder of your website.

Another ink attempt on U810

Another ink attempt on U810
Well I figure I better practice
inking on the Fujitsu U810 since
I’ll be stuck with this for a
while. It’s just not easy writing
on this super light touch screen
that’s super slick with a thin
stylus.
I really wanted to use this for
mobile/on-the-go inking since
I grabbed the domain name
‘mobileinker.com.’  I envisioned
myself using this while out of the
house and moblog my entries
on the fly. :)

What sucks about the MacBook Air

  • It’s heavy.  3 lbs
  • No user replaceable battery
  • It’s huge!
    macbookairsonytzasuseeepc.PNG
  • No internal WWAN solution (HSPDA, EVDO)
  • No ExpressCard slot
  • No SD slot
  • Expensive. $1799++
  • Doesn’t include Apple Remote
  • Thin doesn’t always mean better.. will it wobble?
  • No touchscreen

I still want one.  I just won’t buy one myself.

MacBook Air is still too big

specs_display20080115.jpg

13.3" Widescreen?

3lbs?

So what if it’s thin, it’s still heavier than a Sony TZ.

Still bigger than an Asus Eee PC, UMPC, MID’s, or other 11" and under subnotebooks.

Do I want one?  Hell yes.  It’s’ still the smallest Mac notebook available.  Sexy as hell and the same awesome keyboard.

The backlit keyboard is a nice feature. Multitouch touchpad is expected.  Ambient light sensor is neat..

This will be a huge hit.  If I were to choose a computer for my work to get for me, this would be it.  It’s the smallest, lightest, notebook that can run OSX, Windows, and Linux.

Home on a Tricycle : TreeHugger

Are you the type who grabs mobile tech so you can get out of the house?  Well, how about taking your house with you?  Check out this dude from Hong Kong.  He designed a house on a tricycle!  I don’t know man.. I’d hate to be a victim of house-jacking.

New Lifestream

So I log in to tumblr, where my previous ‘lifestream’ was set up.  Looks like you can only add 5 ‘other feeds’ now.  This is a shame since the entire reason I set up a tumblelog was to have it be the place where all my crap ends up.  So I vented my frustration on twitter and received a reply from Bjorn Stromberg of Ultra Mobile Life asking if I tried soup.io.

Well, I’m switched there now. There’s no restrictions so far and the interface is great.  So if you’re a super stalker, check it out..

UPDATE:
www.rodfathr.com now points to the soup/lifestream as well.

Life On the Wicked Stage: Act 2: The Motorized Beer Cooler at CES

Yes.  I definitely want one too.  It’s funny how the dude manuveurs around people walking by and they don’t even flinch.

EDIT: Hm. This youtube video doesn’t want to embed. This quickpost plugin not working as well as I would like.
