Which MacBook would you get?

Thinking of getting a MacBook for my Mom.

At the campus bookstore, I can get the following deals for the previous versions of the MacBook:

$949.00 MB061LL/B MB 13.3″ 2.0GHZ 1.0/80/Combo-White
$1049.00 MB062LL/B MB 13.3″ 2.2GHz 1.0/120/SD-White
$1099.00 MB063LL/B MB 13.3″ 2.2/1.0/160/SD-BLACK

Here are the prices for the new MacBooks I can get with an educational discount:

$999.00 2.1Ghz, 1GB, 120GB harddrive, Combo drive, White
$1199.00 2.4Ghz, 2GB, 160GB harddrive, SuperDrive, White
$1399.00 2.4Ghz, 2GB, 250GB harddrive, SuperDrive, Black

Looking at the new version, I’m not sure if the deals on the older MacBooks are worth it except maybe the black MacBook.
The major differences for the new MacBooks are the multitouch touchpad and the Penryn chip.
The major difference is the Penryn chip.

Not sure if those changes are worth it either.

    I ended up grabbing the very last rev Black MacBook available at the discounted price of $1099.
    It's going a test of patience showing my mom how to use this thing. Forget about figuring out the touchpad for now. She doesn't know what to do when the mouse reaches the end of the mousepad to make the pointer move more.
