Remember ReadyDrive?
I remember some time ago in order for a laptop to gain ‘Vista Premium Certified’, it required a hybrid harddrive. Now, I guess not.. but question still remains.. where are the hybrid harddrives? It’s been almost 3 years or more since it was mentioned..
I mean, there should be at least one around now. Samsung and Seagate announced theirs last year. So where are they? Does ReadyDrive work just as bad as ReadyBoost?

I have a laptop with a hybrid drive and vista, it’s a Sony sz650 and ReadyDrive works a treat. It comes out of sleep and hibernate really quickly and generally just seems pretty nippy. I noticed the hard drive powering down quite regularly, but it makes a little clicking noise when it does and this annoyed me a bit so I turned off aggressive power management.
Very cool.
I googled the hybrid harddrive mentioned in this review but didn’t find much.
