Taking a cruise
Taking a cruise from Rodfather on Vimeo.
Taking a cruise along San Andreas Rd. Shot at around 6:30PM with about an hour or so left until Sunset.
Using the Aiptek A-HD at 720P 30FPS ~4Mbps attached to a GorillaPod SLR
which was clinging to the dash of my Subaru. It was very shaky but speeding it up somewhat helped.
Edited with Sony Vegas 7 and rendered to 720P WMVHD at 6Mbps. Original footage was 30 minutes. Sped it up to a little over 7 minutes.
The fixed lens helps out when shooting from a car. The Aiptek is not meant for motion though.
Looking into a Sanyo Xacti HD1000 with its 60FPS 720P mode.
Song is Master of Puppets by Metallica performed by Apocalyptica.

I love it! Two thumbs up! The music makes it.
That was really cool. But what’s up with getting passed by people so much, even on the RIGHT ?!?
We’ll have to have you do another one, this time, the Speed Racer version…
j/k
Oh yeah, taxman’s right, the music really does make it! Nice job…
Heh thanks fellas. Trying to convince myself to get a new cam by trying to be disappointed with the cheap hybrid cam. Maybe I’ll do more cruises for testing out future cams.
@SteveNYC: That’s why I called it a cruise.. Just a chill ride.
That one that passed me on the right was driving like an ass anyway, cutting passed cars in the fast lane.
Narrowing my options to 4 cams. Sanyo HD1000, Sanyo HD700, Sanyo E1, and Canon TX1. Each have their pluses & minuses.. Would be nice to have them all to use in certain situations.
The major features I’m trying to juggle for priority are price, size/portability, compression, image stabilization, battery life, performance/image quality, zoom, low light capabilities, fast motion capabilities (FPS), and durability.
Hey, I posted over on vimeo, just noticed the link. I actually have this video set as my desktop background in Vista. I agree you ought to do some more, let’s see that Scooby!
Thanks,
tinstar
Haha thanks, I’m honored I think. I will try to do more like these.
